Change of Vehicle Ownership
Buying and selling your car can be confusing and exhausting process that involves hours of standing around in queues waiting. There are many forms to be filled out, by both the buyer and the seller.
One form you need to fill out authorises change of ownership. To avoid accumulating penalties, the buyer must apply for change of ownership of the vehicle within 21 days of the sale of the vehicle. But do you really want to have to deal with yet another piece of admin?
No? Don’t queue! Let us take the hassle out of buying and selling a car. For a nominal service fee, a Don’t Q representative will make sure you have gathered the correct documentation, visit the relevant registering authority and stand in the queue on your behalf, collect the completed documentation and deliver it to you.
All you need to provide us with is:
- The vehicle’s existing original registration certificate (very important that we get the original document)
- A roadworthy certificate
- Proof of the new owner's address,
- A clear copy of the new owner's ID and previous owner's ID
- If the vehicle is being transferred from the bank to your personal name, we need all documentation supplied by the bank, ID and proof of residence but you do not need a roadworthy certificate.
We charge you our service fee upfront but there are additional licensing department fees that vary per vehicle. We will charge these additional fees on completion.
Applying for change of vehicle ownership with the help of Don’t Q will take 2–3 days.
